Inclusions

Taxes, driver service fee, vehicle usage fee, passenger insurance, and fuel costs are all included.

Attraction admission tickets, toll road fees, and paid parking fees are not included. Please pay these directly to the driver on-site when applicable.

Bus Usage Regulations

All bus charter services comply with Japanese transportation laws. Only licensed local Japanese drivers with 10+ years of experience are permitted to operate. Drivers are responsible solely for driving and are not tour guides.

If no one in your group is able to communicate in Japanese (equivalent to JLPT N2 or above), a multilingual-speaking guide or accompanying staff must be arranged for an additional fee. (Please look into “Important Notes” for details.)

Note: For charters outside the hours of 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, an additional night surcharge of JPY 2,000 per hour will be applied.

Faq

Q1: How will I receive driver information before departure?
We will contact you via LINE, WhatsApp, or WeChat one day before your trip.
If we cannot reach you through these platforms, we will send the information via email. Please make sure to check your messages and notifications.

Q2: Do I need to pay for the driver’s meals or tips?
There’s no need to pay for the driver’s meals.
Tips are not included in the price, and tipping is not customary in Japan — however, you may give a tip at your discretion if you wish to show appreciation.

Q3: How should I pay the toll fees during the trip?
Please confirm the estimated toll fees with our staff in advance.
Depending on your route, toll fees generally range from JPY 8,000 to 12,000.

Q4: Can we eat or drink inside the vehicle?
Normally, only water is allowed inside the car.
If you must eat or drink during the trip, please ask for the driver’s permission first.

Q5: Will the driver return to the depot if we stay overnight in the North or Central Okinawa area?
If you book two or more consecutive days and stay in areas north of Onna Village (including Onna),
an overnight accommodation fee of JPY 8,000–10,000 per person per night will be charged for the driver.

Example:
1️⃣ For a 2-day charter (Oct 1–2) staying north of Onna Village → 1 night fee (JPY 8,000–10,000).
2️⃣ For a 3-day charter (Oct 1–3) with the first two nights north of Onna Village and the last night back in Naha → 2 nights fee (JPY 16,000–20,000).

Q6: Do I need to pay for fuel?
No. Fuel costs are already included in the charter fee.

Q7: What is an “empty car fee”?
If you stay in or travel to areas north of Nago, the “empty car fee” covers the cost of the driver’s empty return trip (northbound or southbound highway fees).

Example:
If both your departure and drop-off locations are in Nago, an empty car fee of JPY 5,000 will apply.

Q8: Can the minibus Chinese-speaking driver communicate entirely in Chinese?
Yes. Footprint Okinawa is the only local operator offering Chinese-speaking minibus drivers. All Chinese-speaking drivers hold commercial bus licenses, have lived in Japan for over 10 years, and are fluent in both Chinese and Japanese (JLPT N2 or above). They can assist with restaurant reservations, ticket purchases, and more. Because of limited availability, we recommend booking early.

Q9: How can I communicate with a Japanese-speaking driver?
For vehicles driven by Japanese drivers, a translation device is provided for basic communication. If any issues arise, please contact our charter support team for assistance.
For bus charters (tour buses), we recommend adding a Chinese guide or attendant to ensure smooth communication and trip coordination.

Q10: Are child car seats required?
According to Japanese traffic laws, children are not required to use car seats when riding in buses, taxis, or chartered vehicles.

► Important Notes

※ Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all vehicles throughout the trip.

This includes electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, and similar substitutes.

To maintain a clean and pleasant environment, please refrain from consuming foods with strong odors inside the vehicle.

※ This travel service accepts passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids, but advance notice is required, and a caretaker or companion must accompany the passenger.

※ Please note that due to traffic conditions, restaurant or ticket price changes, and other cost adjustments, the final tour cost may differ slightly from the initially advertised price.

※ Cancellations made after booking will incur cancellation fees as specified below.

・Please keep the vehicle clean. If any drinks are spilled or vomiting occurs inside the vehicle, a cleaning fee of JPY 2,000–10,000 will be charged.

If the tour is canceled within 14 days before the scheduled date, 50% of the total fee will be charged. If canceled within 3 days before departure, 100% of the total fee will be charged.

Overtime fee for bus tours: JPY 6,000 per 30 minutes, payable directly to the driver on the day of service.(The maximum bus operation time per day is 11 hours.)

► Thoughtful Services

For 13-seater to 21-seater minibuses (for 10–21 passengers),

our company offers multi-language-speaking drivers for smooth communication,

or you may choose to have a multi-language-speaking guide or assistant accompany you.

We can also arrange a certified multi-language-speaking tour guide to travel with you and provide sightseeing commentary.

※ Please reserve one seat for the accompanying guide. The guide’s standard service time is up to 10 hours per day.

 

1.Multi-language Tour Guide – JPY 20,000/day (includes meal allowance)

Services include sightseeing commentary, communication with the driver, restaurants, and hotels to ensure a smooth journey.

2.Multi-language Assistant – JPY 17,000/day (includes meal allowance) Services include: Coordination with the driver, restaurants, and hotels to ensure a smooth itinerary.

Overtime charge: JPY 3,000 per hour.If an extension is required, please inform customer service in advance.

Additional Note:For itineraries using both a guide and a bus driver for two or more consecutive days, if the customer’s accommodation is located north of Onna Village, an overnight lodging fee of JPY 8,000–10,000 per person per night will apply.

 

► Legal Charter Operation

According to Japanese laws and regulations, all vehicles in legal operation are registered with green license plates.

All authorized drivers must be officially registered Japanese drivers with at least 15 years of driving experience.
